The development of my 2D animated senior thesis began in the summer of 2019. The title of the film Red Maize is an analogy which represents the corruption in the film industry. As maize ages, it turns red. Likewise, as the story unfolds, the color red is used to symbolize the constant increase in corruption. My perspective and fears from working in the animation industry motivated me to create this film with added comic elements.
